LEADERSHIP
JEFF BARTLING founded Bartling Group in 2010, after retiring from the world of Public Accounting, to specifically help develop companies with Hypergrowth potential. After starting his career in a small CPA firm environment, he developed his expertise at Ernst & Young and then co-founded LWBJ Financial in Des Moines, Iowa. He retired as CEO in 2009, after 17 years, during which the firm grew to become one of the largest CPA and financial services firms in the Midwest. Jeff has been a CPA since 1983, has a BA in Accounting from Cedarville University and an MST in Taxation from Drake University.
The Bartling Group team includes C-level finance and operations executives across the country. All have held prior executive roles in public and private companies in a variety of industries. This group includes MBAs, CPAs, Attorneys and CFAs with diverse experience in areas ranging from FP&A, raising capital, negotiating and structuring financial transactions, corporate law, asset protection and risk management, managing diverse operations, CFO services, M&A, complex tax planning, ERP systems implementation, and successful exit strategies.

One of world’s fastest growing wellness brands of natural deodorant, soap and toothpaste. PROJECT: Brought in by Founders to lead financial\management operations from small regional brand through hyper-growth period. RESULTS: Became #1 selling Natural Deodorant in the US with distribution in Walmart, Target, Costco, CVS and a huge online sales platform. Sales grew ten-fold pre-sale. Sold to Global Strategic Distributor for nine figures. Retained by Buyer to handle all financial functions during TSA.
One of the largest moving and storage companies in the US. PROJECT: Provided FP&A services to various business units within company, spearheaded financial modeling and process improvement initiatives, assumed role of subject matter expert in manufacturing division for ERP implementation. Trained personnel and provided post go-live support. RESULTS: Supported transition to best practices including automated business processes and real-time KPI reporting.
For over a decade these engineers have been dedicated to developing the most effective medical grade light therapy devices on the market, recommended and loved by dermatologists, estheticians, and skincare professionals around the world. PROJECT: Provided outsourced CFO services to prepare company for sale. RESULTS: Identified issues that could impact valuation and/or due diligence process and worked with CEO to address and resolve. Provided sell-side due diligence for company sale.
Provider of packaged organic food; top five market share leader in exploding niche organic food category. PROJECT: Brought in by the majority owner to evaluate all financial operations, develop proper financial forecasts and assist in obtaining funding for Hypergrowth. RESULTS: Transition of materials sourcing and logistics process. Complete overhaul of forecasts and budgets. Funding received.
